Guatemalan designer Diego Olivero works at the intersection of contemporary design, traditional craftsmanship and social impact. Through his design practice and MESO, Olivero collaborates with artisan communities to create objects that preserve generations of craft knowledge while bringing traditional techniques into a contemporary context.
Working across Guatemala, Peru, Honduras, Haiti, Morocco, Mexico and India, Olivero has collaborated with more than 500 artisan families. His approach places local craftsmanship at the center of the design process, using design as a means to sustain handmade traditions, create economic opportunity and connect regional techniques with a wider global audience.
