Inspired by our historical, natural, and primitive roots, Karim Molina, a textile designer from Caracas, Venezuela, highlights the beauty of materials, design and quality in their creations. Working with natural resources such as Guayacán and Tzalam woods, volcanic stone, marbles and natural leathers, their processes are completely handmade allowing each piece to be unique. In pre-Hispanic times volcanic stone was utilized for functional tools and objects, especially to grind food such as corn and nuts. With a philosophy that we all deserve special objects that tell a story, the artists personally seek out the materials and craftsmen with which they work, giving a sentimentality and intimacy to their designs.
