Teotitlan del Valle is a community of Zapotec origin in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. Nestled in the central valley, a region known for deep and enduring traditions inextricably linked to the worldview of its peoples, history, and social hierarchy, the Mesoamerican textile traditions have been preserved and elaborated on here for generations. Through cooperative and thoughtful collaboration, contemporary designers are aiding the evolution and protection of one of the world’s most enduring trades.
