Proudly made in Latin America of 100% natural, hand-turned clay, this vase is the result of a collective work between people, places, culture and heritage. With a reverence for the pure state of the materials and pre-Hispanic techniques, each piece is fabricated in a multi-step process and fired using a low-temperature wood-burning oven.

* Expect some variations in shape, size and decoration to the pieces shown in the pictures due to the handmade nature of this product.

ABOUT THE MAKER

A Zapotec community in which pottery has been a strong tradition since pre-Hispanic times, Santa Maria Atzompa sits in the central valley of Oaxaca, Mexico. Leticia Alarzón and Leopoldo Porras, an artisan couple who has dedicated their lives to pottery, work carefully to lovingly create each distinctive piece by hand, honoring the colors, textures and finishes inherent in the natural clay unearthed from the land. Learn more about the designer of the piece, Javier Reyes of rrres estudio, in our JOURNAL article!
